Interview of Cricket Fans (ICF) – 16 – Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is India’s pride. Whenever India looses an early wicket in limited overs, Virat Kohli always steps up coming in at number 3 position in the batting order. He is someone who can take the game away from the opposition and is a complete match winner. He is not just a good limited overs batsman, but is also a proper test match player who has got plenty of runs both home and away specially in the last 5 years. My next guest or should I say first guest in this Virat Kohli series of interviewing fans, is @_shortarmjab_

Thank You so much for your participation in this interview, share your early memories of watching Cricket and how you fell in love with this sport?

My early memories of watching this sport was in 2011 Wc. I was not at all interested in cricket. Then world cup was going on. I was watching cartoon and my parents wanted TV for seeing the match. So sat with my parents for seeing the match and saw wc final with no interest.

When was the first time you saw Virat Kohli on TV?

First time I saw Virat in TV was in World cup 2011.

Have you been fortunate enough to meet Virat Kohli ? If you had a chance to meet Virat Kohli, what would be the first question you would ask him?

Sadly I couldn’t meet Virat. I was 90 % sure I could meet him this year but corona happened. I saw him last year 10 M away for 15 sec outside the hotel. If I meet him the first thing I would do is talk to him, ask his selfie and take his blessings.

Your top 3 Virat Kohli knocks across all formats? (Mention 1 from Tests, 1 from ODI’s and 1 from T20s)

ODI – Many are there but for me personally 122 Vs England 2017
T20S – 109 VS KXIP

What is that one thing about Virat Kohli, apart from his Cricketing abilities, that you like the most?

His agression, never give up. I learned a lot from him. Boldness, To challenge anyone against me. Ignore negativity. Many more.

Which is that one biggest milestone, apart from most centuries in ODI’S, do you think Virat Kohli can break?

Most ODI runs in my opinion. He has to get 6. 5 K runs more to break odi runs. I think if he can play odis for 6 more years he can easily break. And add total centuries too he can break that.

Your thoughts on Virat Kohli – The Captain?

Virat kohli the captain – He is one of the best captains. His on field decisions are top class. People may argue  about trophies. 2016 did everything possible but luck. 2017 – 2019 didn’t have resources such as death bowlers but proper on field decisions. Just captained 2 icc events. One semis and one finals. Only captain to win test series in aus.  Captain to win sa, aus, eng, nz Loi series overseas. He will achieve more.

Do you think we will be able to see the 2016 version of Virat Kohli in IPL ever again in the future?

Yes we will see Virat kohli 2016 Ipl like  season for one more year. But even more runs.

Which is that one revolutionary aspect about Virat Kohli you are extremely fond of among these two – Is it the fitness aspect that he brought in the team or is it his on-field aggression that changed the mindset of India’s style of play?

In my opinion, it is his on field agression that changed the mindset of the way people look at this team. It was first started by dada. Now we can observe that the aussies are scared to sledge India. Most of the teams scared to sledge India. Even fitness have to give it to him it has taken a 360 ° turn in Indian Cricket Team.

How do you think Virat Kohli will fare in this year’s IPL?

Virat kohli will have a great ipl this year. He is more hungry right now. He has topped his fitness. Haven’t played for 6 months. He needed a much needed break after that horrible nz tour. He will score well this year.
